The Swiss Championships – since 2021
The Ticino edition, "Best of Ticino," is the preliminary round for the grand Swiss final of the Swiss Street Food Awards.
The pre-finals will take place in all three language regions of Switzerland – French-speaking Switzerland, Ticino, and German-speaking Switzerland. The top three participants in each region will qualify for the grand Swiss final in Basel, making the award a nationwide experience!

New: Pre-Finals
Previously, the Swiss winners were chosen at a single event and sent directly to the grand European final. Starting in 2026, regional pre-finals will also be held to include the whole of Switzerland and discover local talent.
The winners of the Swiss Championships will have the opportunity to compete in the grand European final against representatives from over 15 other European countries!

The best of Ticino
The awards have been presented annually since 2021 – «Best of Switzerland», «Jury's Favorite» and «People's Choice» Award.
In the pre-finals, the same regional awards are presented, but in the form of cooking spoons, which then also serve as a ticket to the grand Swiss final! The Swiss Street Food Awards are part of the European Street Food Awards.
Honor where honor is due – in the Hall of Fame all former winners are immortalized.

April 17th – April 19, 2026, Bellinzona Mercato Coperto
The best street food artists of Ticino will compete against each other in April, hoping to win one of the three spatulas, which also includes a ticket to the Swiss Street Food Award Final in Basel.


The expert jury
The expert jury is a panel consisting of four to five restaurateurs, scene experts, and food critics or food bloggers. The jury decides who advances to the pre-finals and who wins the awards at the events themselves. Except, of course, for the People's Choice, which is voted on by the audience.
